I'm working on my taxes and I'm thinking most of you have done yours already. I'm wondering what outdoorsy things I might have purchased and be able to use....
I'm reading that my membership to the Desert Botanical Garden is an option. http://www.plan.gs/Article.do?orgId=5180&articleId=433
What else? |

Suz,
I'm not a tax expert but I note that the Arizona Trail Association is a "501 (c) Charitable Organization". Therefore, if you belong to the ATA, you may be able to deduct your annual dues. In addition, if you volunteer in ATA work outings, you may be able to deduct 14 cents per mile for your driving to/from the work outings. _________________ TucsonHikers - Southern Arizona's Hiking Network!

I was told by my tax preparer that I could deduct the gas for the mileage that I drove when volunteering at Hart Prairie last August. I car pooled so I didn't claim it but some of you might be able to claim that because it was volunteering for a non-profit place. _________________ "A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."

Both are great ideas that I didn't know about. Thanks for the tips.
I know a membership at the phx zoo, and probably the National/State Parks Passes can also be used as deductions. |
