I've seen a few lately too. I've been watching the clouds all week, it's just around the corner hopefully. There's more interesting talk about the upcoming monsoon season here - http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/azgard/msg0623203516403.html?28
When I first saw Mary's post I thougth virga was plural for Virgo and she was starting some kind of astrological club or some such. I was also scared as my last five girlfriends have ALL been Virgos.

When I lived in New Mexico the name for this phenomenom was "Walking Rain" got that from the Taos Pueblo. But, virga is as good I reckon. |

Oh, I like Walking Rain. That's what I love about virga, is you can watch it walking across the skies. We don't often see weather, outside of dust storms and the dumping of a monsoon, here, so it's exciting for me.
Todd, nope, I'm not a virgo. Actually don't know much about them, but I know my son is a virgo. Mary |
